Illustration only. RERA’s current program deducts Washington B&O (1.5%) and DuPont B&O (0.1%) from the gross referral fee first, then splits the remainder. Each tax and the associate share are rounded to cents; RERA receives the remaining balance. Rates and terms are recorded for each referral. Actual fees and payment depend on the approved agreement.

Before your next step

A few things
worth knowing.

Who can join, and what work can I do?

RERA is a Washington referral-only brokerage. You must hold an active Washington real estate license affiliated with RERA before performing licensed referral activity. Associates make introductions; the receiving brokerage handles representation and transaction services. A legally inactive license does not authorize compensated referral activity.

Can I choose the receiving agent?

Yes. Choose an agent, including one outside the firm, or ask RERA to help. RERA confirms the receiving firm, referral terms, and applicable split in writing.

Is there a membership fee?

There is no current membership fee. Associates remain responsible for their own licensing, continuing education, and personal business expenses.

What is the annual referral requirement?

Have at least one referral accepted by RERA during each membership year, beginning on your joining date and renewing on each anniversary. RERA’s dated written acceptance determines which membership year receives credit. Submission alone does not count, and the referral does not need to close during that year. Acceptance and compensation-agreement approval are separate steps.

How do the split and B&O deductions work?

Washington B&O at 1.5% and DuPont B&O at 0.1% are each calculated on the gross referral fee received by RERA, before the split. The remainder is divided 80% associate / 20% RERA for an outside-firm referral or 90% / 10% for a qualifying Talent group referral. The approved agreement records the applicable terms. After approval, a split change requires written agreement, a signed amendment, and a new recorded version.

Who handles agreements and payments?

Gergen Robinson handles intake and agreements. Donna Robinson handles fee receipts and payments. The receiving firm pays RERA, and RERA coordinates the outgoing payment through the appropriate licensed firm or designated broker where required. RERA verifies the payee and licensing status before disbursement.

When is my share paid?

Within five business days after RERA receives cleared funds and all required paperwork is complete. A closing alone does not trigger payment. Estimates in the portal are not payment guarantees.

What happens to accepted referrals if I leave RERA?

You retain your agreed share on referrals RERA accepted in writing before your departure, even if they close later. The receiving firm still pays RERA. Outgoing payment follows the applicable licensing and firm or designated-broker requirements; it does not bypass RERA to pay an individual broker directly.

Your experience still has a place.
